Osage County, OK-Flood damage has left a small volunteer fire department in Osage County without a usable building, forcing property owners to prepare the structure for demolition.
Chief of Frontier Shores: Repairs Too Costly
Frontier Shores Fire Chief Steve Matias says the cost of repairing the facility is far beyond what the department can afford.
“We operate entirely on donations,” Matias explained. “There’s just no way we can cover the price tag to rebuild without community support.”
Community Campaign Launched
In response, the fire department has launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise the money needed for a new station. The department serves local residents with volunteer firefighters, making it a vital resource in emergencies.
Without a permanent facility, the department faces challenges in housing equipment and responding quickly to calls — putting additional urgency on the fundraising effort.
