Former Drumright Teacher Arrested in OSBI Sexual Abuse Investigation
A former Drumright Public Schools teacher is facing multiple felony charges following a sexual abuse investigation by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
According to the OSBI, 63-year-old Bobby Pruitt has been arrested in connection with allegations involving the sexual abuse of students.
OSBI outlines charges and investigation
Investigators say Pruitt taught agriculture at Drumright Public Schools before resigning in October. At that time, he also surrendered his Oklahoma teaching certificate.
The OSBI reports the allegations involve at least two students, though officials caution the investigation remains ongoing.
The agency says additional victims may come forward as the case progresses.
School district and licensing response
Drumright Public Schools confirmed Pruitt is no longer employed by the district and that administrators cooperated fully with investigators.
The Oklahoma State Department of Education requires educators accused of misconduct to surrender their licenses while investigations are underway.
Authorities encourage reporting
OSBI officials urge anyone with information related to the case to contact law enforcement or the bureau directly.
Cases involving educator misconduct are investigated jointly by local law enforcement, OSBI agents, and prosecutors.
