An Oklahoma economic expert says the Federal Reserve wants the inflation rate to be even lower.
“They still want to get it down to around two percent, two and a half percent inflation rate,” said Steven Agee of the Oklahoma City University business school. “Right now, we are still around four.”
Agee said hiking up interest rates sometimes takes months to go into effect, and rates have gone up 11 times in the last two years.
