FDA Issues Recall for Salad Dressings Sold in Oklahoma
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a recall involving thousands of gallons of salad dressing, including certain Hidden Valley–branded products sold at grocery stores across Oklahoma and other states.
The recall was issued after the manufacturer discovered the possible presence of plastic material in the product, which could pose a health risk if consumed.
Which Products Are Affected
The recall is being conducted voluntarily by Ventura Foods, the company that manufactures the affected dressings.
According to the FDA, the recall includes:
Hidden Valley Buttermilk Ranch dressing
One-gallon containers
Products distributed in 27 states, including Oklahoma
Ventura Foods has not reported any confirmed injuries linked to the recalled dressing, but the FDA says consumers should not consume the product out of an abundance of caution.
What Consumers Should Do
The FDA advises anyone who purchased the recalled salad dressing to:
Stop using the product immediately
Discard it or return it to the place of purchase
Contact Ventura Foods or the retailer for refund information
Consumers who believe they may have experienced illness or injury after consuming the product are encouraged to consult a healthcare provider.
Why Plastic Contamination Matters
Foreign materials such as plastic can pose choking hazards or cause injury to the mouth, throat, or digestive tract. While no injuries have been confirmed, the FDA says removing the product from circulation helps prevent potential harm.
The agency continues to monitor the recall and urges consumers to stay alert for additional updates.
