Drone Company in Oklahoma City Expands Defense and Counter-Drone Technology Work
A drone company in Oklahoma City is expanding the state’s role in defense and aerospace innovation with the opening of a new downtown office.
Danish technology firm MyDefence says the facility will focus on developing, testing, and refining counter-drone systems in partnership with academic researchers, industry leaders, and federal agencies.
Drone company Oklahoma City operations tied to military partnerships
Company officials say the Oklahoma City location will work closely with the U.S. Army and Fort Sill, supporting military efforts to detect and neutralize unmanned aerial threats.
The company specializes in radio-frequency sensors and electronic warfare tools designed to counter unauthorized drones.
National and international security work underway
MyDefence also holds a contract related to security planning for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, highlighting the growing demand for counter-drone technology at large-scale public events.
The company says Oklahoma’s proximity to military installations and research institutions made Oklahoma City an attractive location.
Economic impact and future growth
The facility is expected to open with approximately 20 employees, with plans to expand as new contracts and research projects come online. State economic officials say the move reinforces Oklahoma City’s reputation as a hub for aerospace and defense technology.
