Difficult days ahead for Kingfisher schools

A budget crisis is causing layoffs at Kingfisher Public Schools. Kingfisher interim superintendent Andy Evans won’t say how many employees will be let go but says the cuts will come in administration, support staff and canceling some activities. In addition to budget issues the district recently settled a five-million-dollar civil case against the former head football coach for allowing hazing and bullying on the team. Some members of the district have already been notified and others will get notification of being laid-off in the coming days.
