Wagoner County Commissioners approve an out-of-court settlement of a civil rights lawsuit against the Sheriff over the October 2021 death of a Type 1 diabetic woman in the county jail. The cost is 13 million dollars. County taxpayers are on the hook to make the payment which will have to be paid off with a higher sales tax or with higher property taxes. Voters will make their decision on February 11th on a proposed sales tax.
