Chesapeake Energy Merges with Southwest Energy out of Houston

Chesapeake Energy has announced that it is merging with Houston-based energy company Southwest Energy following a 7.4-billion-dollar agreement. Chesapeake will keep both offices in Oklahoma City and Houston, but the headquarters will be in OKC. The company will be under a new name after merging and is estimated to be worth 24 billion dollars.
