cherokee nation is paying back tolls

Oklahoma Turnpike Authority Director Joe Echelle today said that the Cherokee Nation was paying their back tolls early. The state and tribal government had reached a compact agreement last November under which the Cherokee Nation would pay OTA a 2 million dollar plate pay fee over a three-year period. The tribe made the first payment and will now pay the remaining balance, two years early.
