A new bill has been filed this week in honor of 16-year-olds Lauria Bible and Ashley Freeman, who were kidnapped, tortured, raped, and killed in 1999.
The bill requires anyone being convicted of accessory to murder to serve 85 percent of their sentence. Ronnie Busick was an accessory to the murder of Laurie Bible and Ashley Freeman and only served two years in state prison.
Republican Representative Steve Bashore is the sponsor of this bill.
“The sentence that was handed down by the prosecutor lets this guy basically walk free…” Bashore said.
