Opinion Requested on out-of-State Prescribers

Representative Steve Bashore has requested the opinion of the Oklahoma Attorney General concerning residents' ability to fill prescriptions at Oklahoma pharmacies when prescribed by out-of-state medical providers. This was brought to his attention by a local pharmacist’s letter stating doctors who hold no valid Oklahoma license to practice medicine are in violation of state law by prescribing to Oklahoma residents.
