Attorney Seeks Update on OSU Innovation Foundation Audit
An attorney is asking for an update on what actions, if any, are being taken following an internal audit into Oklahoma State University’s Innovation Foundation.
The independent audit, released by State Auditor Cindy Byrd, found improper commingling of funds, including the use of Innovation Foundation money to pay salaries. The findings prompted significant leadership changes at OSU.
Audit Led to Leadership Resignations
After the audit was made public, OSU President Kayse Shrum resigned, and the director of the Innovation Foundation also stepped down. The audit raised concerns about oversight and financial controls involving millions of dollars.
Attorney Vance Winningham has now written to the Attorney General’s Office, requesting transparency regarding whether any enforcement or investigative actions are underway.
Awaiting Response from Attorney General
Winningham says the public deserves to know what steps are being taken following the audit’s findings. As of now, no response has been issued by the Attorney General’s Office.
The matter remains under review.
