Ardmore Police Drones Improve Search Capabilities
The Ardmore Police Department is adding drones to its toolbox for public safety. Officers are training this week with a private partner to learn how to conduct aerial searches.
Police say the drones will help locate missing people in rural areas and track suspects who flee on foot. Training scenarios include mastering search grids, navigating difficult terrain, and operating in both daytime and nighttime conditions.
Technology Expands Public Safety in Ardmore
Police Chief Kevin Norris explained the drones will enhance efficiency.
“Every second counts in a missing persons case,” he said. “This technology allows us to cover more ground in less time.”
Ardmore joins other Oklahoma departments using drones for rescue missions, crowd monitoring, and tactical operations.
