Amazon Weatherford Delivery Station Nears Opening In Western Oklahoma

The new Amazon Weatherford Delivery Station is preparing to open in western Oklahoma, marking a major milestone for economic development in the region and bringing faster package delivery to thousands of rural customers.

Located at 4600 East Lawter Road in Weatherford's new North Park Industrial Complex, the 30,000-square-foot facility is expected to begin operations during the first week of September. City leaders say the project will create approximately 100 jobs while serving as the first major tenant in the newly developed industrial park.

The Amazon Weatherford Delivery Station occupies 10.72 acres purchased from the Weatherford Industrial Trust, making it the first land sale completed within the city's North Park Industrial Complex.

According to city officials, landing Amazon as the industrial park's anchor tenant is expected to attract additional companies considering western Oklahoma for future expansion.

Economic Development Director Yolanda Creswell said the project sends a strong message that Weatherford is prepared for continued commercial and industrial growth.

Unlike Amazon's massive fulfillment centers, the Weatherford facility will operate as a last-mile delivery station. Packages arriving overnight from larger regional warehouses will be sorted by delivery route before being loaded onto local delivery vans for final delivery to customers.

The Amazon Weatherford Delivery Station is designed to improve delivery speeds across western Oklahoma, particularly in communities that traditionally have experienced longer shipping times.

Rather than storing inventory for extended periods, the facility serves as a high-speed transfer hub where packages move quickly from regional fulfillment centers to local delivery vehicles.

Officials expect the station to significantly expand access to same-day and next-day delivery for customers across rural portions of western Oklahoma.

The project is also expected to generate dozens of additional opportunities through Amazon Flex drivers and third-party Delivery Service Partners (DSPs) that contract with Amazon to complete local deliveries.

Weatherford And Perry Racing Toward September Launch

Weatherford is not the only Oklahoma community preparing for Amazon's rural delivery expansion.

An almost identical 30,000-square-foot delivery station is nearing completion in Perry, where crews are also preparing for an early September opening.

Construction crews in Weatherford have spent recent weeks completing pavement improvements and roadway upgrades near Airport Road and East Lawter Road to accommodate increased truck traffic and delivery vehicles entering the industrial park.

Initial merchandise and operational equipment have already begun arriving at the facility as final preparations continue ahead of the planned opening.

City leaders believe the Amazon Weatherford Delivery Station represents far more than a new building. As the first major employer to locate within North Park, officials say the project establishes a foundation for future industrial investment, new employment opportunities and stronger economic growth throughout western Oklahoma.
