Alysia Adams is expected to plead guilty

A child’s caretaker is expected to enter a guilty plea today in a Caddo County court in connection to the murder of a 4-year-old girl. Alysia Adams will enter the blind plea to first degree murder to avoid the death penalty. The judge will determine her sentence later. You might remember thousands searched for Athena Brownfield in January of 2023 when a mailman found her sister wandering alone in Cyril. Athena’s body was later found in a rural area near Rush Springs. Adams estranged husband Ivon Adams is also facing a first-degree murder charge and is scheduled to be arraigned in January.
