Alan Armstrong appointed to U.S. Senate was announced Tuesday by Gov. Kevin Stitt during a press conference.
Armstrong, a Tulsa-based energy executive and longtime leader of Williams Companies, brings more than three decades of experience in Oklahoma’s oil and gas industry, according to Office of Governor Kevin Stitt.

Alan Armstrong appointed to U.S. Senate with energy focus
The Alan Armstrong appointed to U.S. Senate move comes as federal leaders debate energy policy and infrastructure expansion.
Armstrong has been closely aligned with President Donald Trump energy policy, supporting major pipeline efforts including the Northeast Supply Enhancement project and Constitution Pipeline.
“My short time in the Senate will be tightly focused on meaningful permitting reform,” Armstrong said.

Energy leadership background drives appointment
Supporters say the Alan Armstrong appointed to U.S. Senate decision reflects Oklahoma’s role in domestic energy production.
During his time leading Williams, Armstrong helped grow the company into a major force in U.S. natural gas production, handling a significant share of national supply, as noted by Williams Companies leadership profile.
The appointment places Armstrong in the Senate during a critical period for energy policy and economic growth.
