A New Species of Blue Bee Has Been discovered

There may not be a lot of bee activity in Oklahoma right now, but scientists at OU have found a new species of bee in the state. It’s a mining bee that is dark blue. When it feeds on nectar it does a handstand and rubs its belly on the flower. The blue bee named Andrena prefers flowers from tomatoes and nightshade plants.
