A big drop in the number of overdose deaths

According to the CDC the number of overdose deaths dropped dramatically in Oklahoma and across the U.S. last year. Data from 2024 shows there were an estimated 80 thousand deaths in the U.S. down from 110 thousand in 2023 which is a 27 percent drop. In Oklahoma that number dropped 24 percent. The CDC says deaths are now at their lowest level since 2019.
