Dozens of Degree Programs Eliminated Across Oklahoma Colleges
41 Academic Programs Terminated Statewide
The Oklahoma Regents for Higher Education have eliminated 41 academic degree programs across colleges and universities statewide. Another 21 programs have been suspended, meaning new students will no longer be admitted.
Nearly 200 Additional Programs Targeted for Restructuring
Regents say nearly 200 more academic programs will undergo enrollment-boosting efforts, including:
Curriculum updates
Shared instruction between institutions
Program consolidations
University of Oklahoma Among Campuses Impacted
At the University of Oklahoma, officials confirmed:
16 degree programs were terminated
3 additional programs were suspended
Regents say the changes are aimed at improving efficiency and better aligning programs with workforce demand.
