A major Tulsa murder arrest has been made after police identified a suspect accused of fatally shooting Marcus Vazquez outside a Tulsa hotel earlier this week.
According to the Tulsa Police Department, Jeffrey Aguirre, also known as “Joker,” was arrested Thursday night in connection with the deadly shooting near 51st Street and Harvard Avenue.
The ongoing Tulsa murder arrest investigation centers around the death of Marcus Vazquez, 28, who was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot of the Tradewinds Central Inn.
Police say Jeffrey Aguirre is currently being held inside the Tulsa County Jail on bond exceeding $1 million.

The deadly shooting tied to the Tulsa murder arrest happened around 2 a.m. Sunday morning.
According to investigators, officers with the Tulsa Police Department responded to reports of gunfire at the Tradewinds Central Inn near 51st Street and Harvard Avenue.
Officers located Marcus Vazquez suffering from multiple gunshot wounds at the scene.
Authorities say Vazquez was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Witnesses also reportedly told investigators that Vazquez had received threats from Aguirre before the shooting occurred.
Police say the combination of witness statements and surveillance footage helped investigators positively identify Jeffrey Aguirre as the primary suspect.
According to the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office, felony firearm possession charges can apply when convicted felons are found possessing firearms during violent crimes or investigations.

According to the Tulsa County Jail, Aguirre has been booked on charges of first-degree murder and possession of a firearm after a former felony conviction.
