State Reached Agreement Ending Civil Rights Investigation

A memorandum of understanding with the Justice Department ends a probe into discrimination in the state court system.

Because of a new state law and other steps taken by the state’s court system, the Justice Department has reached an agreement ending a civil rights investigation. The probe began after a Mayes County resident could not access the courts because the person had limited English-speaking skills.
