Lively discussion today on the House floor over a bill to increase the sentence for gun theft. House member John George explained the consequences of such thefts. Several lawmakers asked if there is any punishment for those who leave their guns out in plain view inside a vehicle, to which the answer was “no.”

The bill passed 80 to 11 and will go back to the State Senate for consideration.
