Oklahoma has long sat atop the rest of the nation for the cost of homeowners insurance, and now it is going up again. The average policy costs over $5,800 a year. The national average is 26 hundred. In the last year, rates have increased by over 10 percent in Oklahoma. The reason is severe weather and earthquakes.
