The effort to modernize the state’s fleet of vehicles promises some big savings for the Tourism Department alone.
A closer look found 51 vehicles that were being underutilized; eliminating them reportedly will save Oklahoma taxpayers an estimated 150,000 dollars per year. Those vehicles were aging, and disposing of them as surplus will save the money that would have likely gone for repairs. The governor’s initiative in this area was kicked off in February.
