Oklahoma Legislature Tackles Tax Cut Disagreements

The two leaders of the Oklahoma legislature remain at odds over more tax cuts. The House has passed three measures that Speaker Charles McCall still hopes the Senate will consider. One would do away with the state income tax.

 

Other bills would eliminate the lowest income tax brackets and eliminate the corporate income tax.  Senate President Pro Tem Greg Treat says if they passed all of the House bills, it would cost the state 3.5 billion dollars, and no one will see the light of day in the Senate.
