The weeks leading up to the return of the school year are when most parents take their students in for the required immunizations.
“Around about April through late summer is when you see families gearing up to get their children ready for back to school,” said Myka Saltsman, Interim Director of Immunization Services for the State Health Department
While, most students go to their family doctor, Saltsman said the shots are available at county health clinics, and in some cases, pharmacies.
