“No Sit, No Lie” Ordinance Considered in Shawnee

The Shawnee City Commission will vote on a new ordinance to stop people from sitting or sleeping on downtown sidewalks. 

Shawnee residents say the ordinance is aimed at homeless people. There are some exceptions, and the city manager’s office says the vote will be taken at the 9-6 p.m. meeting, and public resistance is already set to be building.
