House Committee Moves Forward Bill To Mandate Public School Recess

It’s called the Right to Recess Act, and a House committee has given it the green light to move to the floor. State Representative Jacob Rosecrants says his bill would mandate that some public school students get a break from class.

Wanting to preserve as much local control as possible, the bill suggests the recess be 30 minutes, but local school boards can change that.
