fewer cattle causes higher prices!

The nation and Oklahoma’s cattle herds are at their lowest level since 1951.  Drought and other weather conditions are getting much of the blame for a sell off that has reduced herd size by some 8-million head.  That’s why beef prices are at or approaching record levels.   Another expected hot dry summer ahead could force cattlemen to continue reducing herd sizes.
