Attorney General Gentner Drummond in “Tough Spot” in Poultry Lawsuit

Oklahoma's lawsuit against the state’s major poultry producers could go to federal mediation.

Speaking to the Oklahoma Press Association, Attorney General Gentner Drummond said the lawsuit focused on water quality and the Illinois River Watershed has him in a tough spot with clean water advocates on one side and poultry industry leaders on the other side.

Drummond said the lawsuit puts clean water against the robust poultry industry, and both are vital.
